About Tiers of Joy

Tiers of Joy Cakes, owned and operated by Jo Ann Hirschi, is your first and best choice in Victoria for wedding and specialty cakes. Whether you have an intimate gathering with a few friends or cast of hundreds, Jo Ann will work with you and for you to create a cake unique to your occasion.
A native of Victoria, Jo Ann studied culinary arts at Camosun College, finishing her course in 1975. She then started as cake designer for Little Giant Bakery. With 6 retail stores, Jo Ann helped lead a team of decorators in producing European quality cakes and pastries from 1975 to 1980. IN 1981 Jo Ann left Little Giant to take a position as baker at the Officer's Mess in Naden, where she has remained to this day.
Over the years Jo Ann's cakes have won numerous awards. These include:

  • Best Wedding Cake in Show 1984 @ Le Grand Salon Culinaire de Victoria
  • Best In Show Pacific Region Culinary Art Competition CFB Esquimalt 1993
  • 4 Gold medals in shows after returning from her 3 year stay in Switzerland
  • Gold medal @ International Culinary Salon 2001
  • In 2005 hit the 500+ Cakes made listings
Jo Ann's dream of "Tiers of Joy Wedding & Specialty Cakes" began in 2002. With over 25 years of professional experience Jo Ann knows that quality ingredients and attention to detail are essential in producing cakes that are both stunning and delicious.
